UPDATE: Jamie Spears has filed court documents discussing Britney Spears' application to move up her court hearing regarding her desire to remove her father as a conservator.
In documents obtained by E! News on Friday, Aug. 5, Jamie's lawyer, Vivian Thoreen, writes on his behalf that they see no urgency in Britney's request, which was filed by her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart. However, Vivian said she does not oppose moving the hearing from Sept. 29 to Aug. 23.
Vivian further wrote that they rather oppose Jamie's removal, as he's "dutifully and faithfully served as the conservator of his daughters estate without any blemishes on his record." Vivian pointed to Britney's financial wellbeing and visitation rights to her sons as evidence of his competency.
In the same court documents, the lawyer also accused Jodie Montgomery of stating in a July 9 conversation that Britney may need a 5150 hold as she was supposedly "spiraling out of control."
In a statement to E! News, Jodie's lawyer, Lauriann Wright, denied the allegations. She said in part, "Mr. Spears' declaration misrepresents what Ms. Montgomery said to him in relation to a potential 5150 psychiatric hold for Ms. Spears. At no time did Ms. Montgomery express to Mr. Spears that Ms. Spears would currently qualify for such a hold."
