A murder investigation has been launched after a woman who fell from a block of flats died from her injuries.
The woman, in her 20s, was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition after falling from Bewley Court, in Southend, Essex, last Wednesday.
Essex Police put a cordon around the 10-storey block of flats and a criminal investigation was launched into the incident.
A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection to the woman's fall and has been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Police have now confirmed that the woman, who has not yet been identified, died in hospital on Monday after fighting for life for six days.
Detectives have now launched a murder investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Essex Police said in a statement: 'We were called to concerns for a woman in Bewley Court shortly after 6.30pm on Wednesday 10 November.
'When we arrived we found a woman in her 20s who had sustained serious injuries having fallen from a height.
'She was taken to hospital but, sadly, died there yesterday (Monday 15 November).

'Following her death, our investigation is now a murder inquiry.
'A 26 year-old man was arrested following the incident on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently on bail.
'We are continuing to appeal for anyone who saw or heard anything or has any information about what happened.'
